Vocational Training Program
- Only in Germany-

What Is Ausbildung ?

Vocational Education ?

The Ausbildung program in Germany, also called vocational training or the dual education system, is one of the world's most effective vocational education systems.

The program combines on-the-job training (Betrieb) with theoretical education at a vocational school (Berufsschule), providing participants with the skills needed to enter the workforce competently. It lasts 2-3 years.

Marsha completed her Ausbildung in 1.5 years thanks to her excellent grades.

Her average grades were: 1 in the first year, 1.3 in the second, and 1.7 in the third. In the German grading system:

1 = very good
2 = good
3 = satisfactory
4 = sufficient
5 = deficient
6 = fail

There are two types of working and school schedules:

  1. The first type involves 3 full days of work and 2 (half) days of theoretical study (morning classes, afternoon work).
  2. The second type involves alternating school periods. For instance, in the first year, you may spend 3 months on theoretical studies, then work until the next school block (Blockwoche).

For example, in the first year, you may spend 3 months fully focused on theoretical studies at school, followed by work until the next school block (Blockwoche).

The Ausbildung program in Germany offers a practical career path, equipping participants with strong, recognized skills. It provides relevant education, real work experience, and financial compensation during training.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

If your salary is insufficient to cover your living expenses in Germany (with rent being a major factor), you must open a blocked account (Sperrkonto) and deposit the difference.

For example, if your salary is €800/month, you would need to deposit the difference of €127/month, totaling €1,524 per year, into the Sperrkonto.

Yes, Ausbildung is available in almost every field, but it largely depends on your proficiency in German.

For example, joining an Ausbildung program in tax consultancy requires strong language skills. If your German is not fluent, it may lead to insecurities, slow down your work, and frustrate others due to communication barriers. Fields like nursing or hospitality are popular among foreigners because they often have a higher number of non-German workers, making adaptation easier.

Remember, in an Ausbildung program, you will be working in a professional setting where German will be spoken constantly. Whether you fully understand or not, you will still be expected to perform your tasks effectively.

Additionally, the character of German people differs from that of Indonesians. Germans tend to be direct and avoid small talk. Therefore, having a resilient mindset is essential for anyone considering an Ausbildung program.

If you encounter any issues during the Ausbildung program, contact the MAVO Management team immediately. MAVO Management will reach out to the company (Betrieb) and mediate the situation.

If the issue arises due to your actions (e.g., not fulfilling responsibilities, violating rules), MAVO Management will not be responsible for finding another Ausbildungsplatz.

However, if the issue lies with the Betrieb, such as being required to work overtime every day, MAVO Management will assist you in finding a new Ausbildungsplatz.

After completing your Ausbildung, companies (Betrieb) often offer graduates permanent employment. If you are not offered a position and need assistance finding another job, MAVO Management can help. Simply contact our team for support.
